Risk & Drawdown
Can a breach occur while a position is open?
Yes. Unrealized PnL affects account equity, and the drawdown limit applies to open positions. Sharp moves can reach the threshold quickly.

Open losses count
Yes. Account equity includes unrealized profit and loss, so the engine can identify a breach before a trade is closed. A closed balance above the limit does not protect an account whose equity has already reached the relevant risk threshold.
Example
A $5,000 Instant Account has a $4,800 static breach level. With closed balance at $4,950 and an additional $150 open loss, equity is $4,800 before considering other posted changes. That reaches the static threshold even though the position remains open.
Evaluation and evaluation-funded products also face 3% daily equity loss from midnight UTC. A trade can violate that daily condition while the account is still above its 6% static threshold.
TP/SL does not guarantee protection
A stop-loss triggers a simulated exit instruction. Its fill depends on genuine fresh depth and can include slippage and commissions. Rapid movement or unavailable liquidity means it may not fill exactly at the labeled stop price, and risk evaluation still applies.
Other equity changes
Commissions, funding and payout reservations can reduce the buffer available for an open trade. Check the whole account, not just one position's gross PnL. Leverage allows greater exposure but does not expand the loss allowance.
After a suspected breach
Inspect account status and history. Risk exits use genuine depth when available; do not assume a chart line that remains visible means the account is active or that the engine should fabricate a fill.
Contact support with the account, instrument and event time if the recorded equity or rule appears inconsistent. The useful comparison is current equity versus the correct threshold, not closed balance versus a previous high-water value.
